Calling all romantics! Discover all of the new features of the Sims 4 Lovestruck expansion pack with the Romantic Explorer aspiration. It’s not very restrictive in its gameplay requirements, so you’re sure to enjoy playing through it with any sim. If you’re struggling to complete one of the milestones or want extra helpful tips, you’ve come to the right place! In this post, you’ll find a walkthrough of the entire aspiration, my suggestions on traits that help with completing it and how to cheat its completion!

Tips for Completing the Romantic Explorer Aspiration
Traits (Assigned in Create-A-Sim Mode)
All three of the following traits will help in completing this aspiration with ease, as they lower the chances of negative reaction to romantic or friendly interactions: Lovebug, Romantic and Outgoing.
Reward Potions (To Purchase)
Reward potions and traits can be purchased from the rewards store, accessed via the aspiration panel. If you don’t have enough satisfaction points (earned by completing aspiration tasks and solving wants), you can use the satisfaction points cheat (sims.give_satisfaction_points #).
Get your sim in the right mood for a date with the very useful Flirty Potion (200 satisfaction points). The Moodlet Solver (500 satisfaction points) potion is also helpful for erasing negative moodlets (such as sad or tense) which make Sims resistant towards performing romantic interactions.
Reward Traits (To Purchase)
Beguiling (2,500 satisfaction points) is the most useful reward trait for this aspiration, as it allows Sims to make others feel flirty with even the subtlest interactions. Sims will increase the romance skill faster with the following reward traits: Savant (4,000), Morning Sim (1,000) and Night Owl (1,000).
Lot Traits (Designate in Build Mode)
The Romantic Aura (Base Game) lot trait increases the chance of your sims feeling flirty, which is very helpful for increasing their romantic skill. Another useful trait is the new Singles Hangout lot trait that comes with Lovestruck. These lots attract single sims to hang out, which is very useful when looking for your next date. Ciudad Enamorada comes with a gym, SUDOR, and a nightclub, Mirador Del Amor, both of which have the Singles Hangout lot trait, making them the perfect places to start your search. Both lot traits mentioned are useful on community lots as well as residential ones.
Bonus Trait for Love Aspirations
When you create a new sim, the first aspiration that you choose for them will grant them a bonus trait in addition to the three traits that you have assigned. For the Romantic Explorer aspiration, the bonus trait can be very useful!
For any aspiration in the “Love” category, such as Romantic Explorer, Soulmate, and Serial Romantic aspirations, the assigned bonus trait is “Alluring”. This trait increases the likelihood that your Sim will receive positive reactions to their romantic interactions with others.
If your sim was initially assigned a different aspiration and you later changed it to Romantic Explorer during gameplay, your sim will not have the Alluring trait. Instead they will keep the bonus trait of their original aspiration. You can still play the romantic explorer aspiration and enjoy it.
If you would like to add the Alluring trait later on, you can cheat it following these steps:
- Open the cheat bar by pressing:
- Command + Shift + C on PC.
- Control + Shift + C on Mac.
- All four triggers on console (i.e., PS4 or Xbox one).
- Activate cheats by typing in “testingcheats true” and then press enter.
- Type into the bar traits.equip_trait trait_Alluring
- Press enter and the trait will appear in the simology panel.
Romantic Explorer Aspiration Milestones Walk Through
Milestone 1: Spark of Love
Go on a Get To Know You Date
Three ways to set up a Get To Know You date:
- Use Cupid’s Corner
- Select a sim in the relationships panel and then choose the option to Create a Date
- Ask a sim directly (under relationship category of social interactions)
Achieve Level 2 Romance Skill
The romance skill can be gained by performing romance interactions, reading skill books (only Beginner level needed at this stage) and completing interactions associated with the romance consultant career.
Use the Romantic Blanket 3 Times for Romance
All three of the romantic blanket options can be bought from buy mode for 250 simoleons in buy mode. To complete this milestone task, click on the blanket and choose any of the romance options (e.g., Woohoo or Try for Baby).
Share Food 2 Times
This refers to romantic food which can be bought by using a sim’s phone or computer. Go to the shopping folder on the phone and select “Purchase Romantic Items…”. Buy a box of chocolates or truffles or any of the options (all of them cost roughly 150 simoleons). Select the food item in your sim’s inventory and there will be an option to share it with someone.

Discuss Romantic Boundaries
Find the necessary social interaction following this path: Relationship > Learn More > Ask About Romantic Boundaries.
Have a Romantic Partner
Once sim’s have built high enough friendship and romance bars, then there will be an option under the relationships social category to “Ask to be Partner”. If accepted, your sim will have a romantic partner.
Achieve Level 4 Romance Skill
The romance skill can be gained by performing romance interactions, reading skill books or completing interactions associated with the romance consultant career.
Embrace 3 Times
Social navigation: Romance > Physical Intimacy > Embrace
Sims can embrace the same sim three times or three different sims once to complete this milestone task.
Milestone 3: Amour Connoisseur
Get Gold on a Romantic Date
Complete as many of the tasks that appear in a list in the top left corner of the screen during a date. Here are three ways to set up a Romantic date:
- Use the option on Cupid’s Corner
- Select a sim in the relationships panel and then choose the option to Create a Date
- Ask a sim directly (under relationship category of social interactions)
Achieve Level 7 Romantic Skill
The romance skill is increased by performing romance interactions, reading skill books or completing interactions associated with the romance consultant career. If you’d like, you can cheat the romance skill by following the steps in this post.
Perform 25 Romantic Gestures with a Partner Sim
You can achieve this milestone task by performing any social interaction in the romance category. They must be performed with a sim that yours is in a partnered relationship with. If you want to double check, you can always click on a sim in the relationships panel and open profile. On their profile you’ll be able to see everything about your relationship.
Woohoo 3 Times at Different Locations
You need to Woohoo on 3 different lots, not different places on the same lot. This can be done with different sims or with a partner sim.
Reward Trait for Romantic Explorer Aspiration
Upon completion of the romantic explorer aspiration your sim will become a Seasoned Romantic. This trait allows for a quicker increase in romantic relationships compared to other sims. Additionally, seasoned romantic’s recover from embarrassment quicker than others.
Cheat for the Romantic Explorer Aspiration
You can easily complete the Romantic Explorer aspiration instantly by using the following cheat. Here are the steps for the Sim 4 Aspiration Cheat:
- Open the cheat bar by pressing:
- Command + Shift + C on PC.
- CTRL + Shift + C on PC or Mac.
- All four triggers on console (i.e., PS4 or Xbox one).
- Activate cheats by typing in “testingcheats true” and then press enter.
- Type into the bar aspirations.complete_current_milestone
- Press enter and the milestone your Sim is on is now complete.
- Repeat Steps 1-4 until your sim has completed all 3 milestones.

Final Notes
The romantic explorer aspiration is not particularly difficult to complete, but it does take some time to complete. I like this because aspirations are meant to be lifetime goals (in my opinion) rather than something you complete only a couple of days. Regarding love aspirations, I believe that this aspiration is easier than the serial romantic aspiration and similar in difficulty to the soulmate aspiration.
