Pets were introduced in the Sims 4 Cats & Dogs expansion pack. With that pack your Sim can own their own vet clinic and work as a vet in it! There are a lot of different illnesses pets’ in the Sims 4 can have. I have compiled them all in this post and provided information as to how you can treat each condition when you are playing as the vet.
Basic Information on Pet Illnesses and Vets in the Sims 4
- Both cats and dogs get the same illnesses.
- Each illness has a different number of symptoms that the vet uncovers by clicking on the animal when it is on the exam table and examining the pet.
- Each illness can be treated with a treatment from the exam table and/or a procedure with the surgery machine. The correct treatment will be clearly shown by a green thumbs up icon (as shown in the picture below next to the Administer Shot – Eudemonia Concentrate).
- Cone of Shame is a treatment option for all pet illnesses!

Other Ways of Curing Pets in the Sims 4
The treatments in the table above have to be performed by a vet in game or by your Sim using the exam table and/or surgery table items.
The wellness pet treat can be used to cure pet illnesses in the Sims 4. You can purchase one from an animal treats vending machine, which is oftentimes located at the vet clinic in game or you can purchase one for your Sim to use as well.
Treats are useful for many different facets of pet care such as aging up or down your pet.
