In the Sims 4 Horse Ranch expansion pack our sims can now ride around the new world, Chestnut Ridge, on their own highly customisable horses! In this post I provide all the cheats for both your sims’ and their horse’s skills.
Step 1 – Enable Cheats
Make the cheat bar appear in the top left hand corner of the screen by pressing:
- Command + Shift + C on PC.
- CTRL + Shift + C on Mac.
- All four triggers on console.
Type in “testingcheats on” and press enter to enable the use of cheats.
Step 2 – Enter the Cheat
Type the cheats (in bold below) into the cheat bar and press enter to change your sims skill levels.
Horse Riding Skill
stats.set_skill_level Major_EquestrianSkill 7
Replace the number 7 with the number level that you want your Sim to have (10 is the maximum!)
Nectar Making Skill
stats.set_skill_level Minor_RanchNectar 4
Replace the number 4 with the number level that you want your Sim to have (5 is the maximum!)
Horse Skills (Temperament, Agility, Jumping and Endurance)
In order to change any of your horse’s skills you need your horse’s unique ID code. Find this code by entering the following into the cheat bar:
sims.get_sim_id_by_name first name last name
Replace ‘first name last name’ with your horse’s full name.
Now you can cheat each of your horse’s skills (Temperament, Agility, Jumping and Endurance):
stats.set_skill_level Horse_Temperament 7 ID
Replace the number 7 with the number level that you want your horse sim to have (10 is the maximum!) AND replace ‘ID’ with the unique ID code that you found before.
stats.set_skill_level Horse_Agility 7 ID
Replace the number 7 with the number level that you want your horse sim to have (10 is the maximum!) AND replace ‘ID’ with the unique ID code that you found before.
stats.set_skill_level Horse_Jumping 7 ID
Replace the number 7 with the number level that you want your horse sim to have (10 is the maximum!) AND replace ‘ID’ with the unique ID code that you found before.
stats.set_skill_level Horse_Endurance 7 ID
Replace the number 7 with the number level that you want your horse sim to have (10 is the maximum!) AND replace ‘ID’ with the unique ID code that you found before.

I found that if I use a lot of these cheats in a row then the skill levels might not appear to change in the sims UI. All you need to do is save and exit to the main menu and then re-enter the game and you will see that the cheats did in fact work.
