The Sims 4 Seasons introduces new exciting activities for children and teens! One standout feature is the after-school scouting program. While you can’t actually follow your sims into the woods to learn fire-making or camping, you can complete a variety of activities to earn badges. The more badges you earn, the higher your scout rank becomes! I love how scouting helps your sim’s children become well-rounded in their skills, ensuring that when they grow up, they’re not just great at one thing but proficient in a wide range of skills. In this post, I will provide all the information needed for you to dive into the fun and watch your young sims flourish with every badge they earn!
How To Become A Scout
Both children and teen sims can join the scouts using their phone. Under the Business category, click on the option to “Join after school activity”. You’ll then have the option to select the scouts (If you have Get Famous, drama club will also be an option). All the information will appear as though it is a career in the career panel along the bottom right of your screen.
Note that unlike the other part-time jobs that teens can join, the scouts is an unpaid weekend activity. When your sim becomes a scout, they will receive the Scouting Badge Board in their inventory. If you ever need to buy a new one or want to purchase one as decor when building, then you can find it in buy mode under activities. It costs 50 simoleons.
Sims 4 Scout Levels
Scouts of all levels meet every Saturday and Sunday from 2pm to 4pm. All levels have the same daily task, which increases their chance of advancement if completed. Daily Task: Check Badge Progress on the Scouting Board (simply click on the Scouting Badge Board to complete this).

Scouting Aptitude Trait |
The Scouting Aptitude Reward Trait
Once your Sim has maxed the Scouting career, they receive the Scouting Aptitude reward trait. This will give them a boost when gaining skills in the future. This can be really helpful for Sims as high skill levels are required to get promoted in jobs and to unlock special items and interactions.
Tips for Levelling Up in the Scouts
The ideal mood for scouts when attending the weekend sessions is to be energised. Here’s a list of five ways to make your sim energised:
- Purchase the Energised potion from the rewards store for 200 satisfaction points (use the satisfaction points cheat to get enough points if they can’t afford it yet).
- Take a brisk or speedy shower.
- Workout (e.g. go swimming or jogging).
- Assign the Bracing Breezes lot trait to their home lot.
Have a sim with the Athletic trait pump you up (social interaction).
Earning Scouting Badges
There are 9 badges that are earned by your sims completing certain tasks and interactions. The number of actions required to earn each badge varies.
Badge | Number of Actions Required | How to Earn |
Arts and Crafts | 6 | Children only: Use an activity table to create drawings or make crafts Teens only: Use an easel to paint |
Civic Responsibility | 8 | Perform cleaning actions (e.g mopping up puddles) or repairing broken appliances (learn more about the handiness skill here) |
Give Back | 5 | Donate items to charity using the mailbox or a computer, or use the Give Gifts interaction with other sims. |
Good Deeds | 6 | Entertain a toddler or infant, make someone laugh, or take out the trash. Teens only: Help someone with their homework. |
Keep Fit | 6 | Dance or exercise. |
Outdoor Adventurer | 6 | Do activities outside such as catching fish or finding frogs. Teens only: Grill |
Scholarly Aptitude | 5 | Read books or do homework. |
Sociability | 12 | Perform Friendly interactions with another sim. |

Scouting Career Cheat
Follow these steps to use the Sims 4 career cheat to get a promotion in the Scouts:
- Open the cheat bar by pressing:
- Command + Shift + C on PC
- CTRL + Shift + C on Mac.
- All four triggers on console (i.e., PS4 or Xbox one).
- Activate cheats by typing in “testingcheats true” and then pressing enter.
- Type into the bar careers.promote scout
- Press enter and your Sim will instantly be promoted to the next scout level.
To max the scouting career repeat steps 3 and 4 until you can no longer get promoted (i.e., your sim is a Llamacorn scout).
You can also use this cheat to demote your sim’s scouting level. To do this, replace the cheat code above with careers.demote scout.
