In the Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle expansion pack, neighbourhoods are assigned eco footprints (Industrial, Neutral, or Eco). The world that came with Eco Lifestyle is called Evergreen Harbour. There, the Grims Quarry neighbourhood starts as green, Port Promise as industrial and Conifer Station as neutral. All neighbourhoods in the other worlds start as neutral. The footprint of your sims’ neighbourhood can be altered through gameplay. If purchasing eco-friendly or industrial items for their lot, or participating in the voting process seems tedious, the following cheat can be a solution.
Step 1 – Enable Cheats
Make the cheat bar appear in the top left hand corner of the screen by pressing:
- Command + Shift + C on PC.
- CTRL + Shift + C on Mac.
- All four triggers on console.
Type in testingcheats on and press enter to enable the use of cheats.
Step 2 – Eco Footprint Cheat
Type eco_footprint.set_eco_footprint_state # into the cheat bar and replace # with either 0, 1, or 2. The numbers represent:
- 0 = green
- 1 = neutral
- 2 = industrial
This cheat changes the eco footprint of the neighbourhood (not world) that your sim is physically in when you use it.
How To Remove Eco Footprint in the Sims 4
Removing an eco footprint is the equivalent to being in a neutral state. For example, cheating to a neutral state would remove the smog in the environment that appears when in the industrial state.
Final Remarks
Given that April is Earth Month, I thought a post about the Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle would be appropriate. I hope this post was helpful! Let me know if you have any questions in the comments below.
Happy simming!
