In this post, I’m going to share everything you need to know about one of my MOST used cheats in the Sims 4! Normally, when you click on the Sim you’re controlling, you can access CAS (Create-A-Sim) but only to make limited changes. If you want to edit your Sim as if you were creating them from scratch, the cas.fulleditmode cheat is your go-to. This cheat unlocks full customisation options, allowing you to modify everything! Whether you’re playing on Mac, PC, Xbox or other consoles, the instructions in this post apply. Plus, since it’s a base game cheat, it’s free and accessible to every player!
Without the cheat you can edit your Sim’s clothing, likes and dislikes, and turn on and turn offs. Here’s what you can unlock in CAS using the cas.fulleditmode cheat:
- Traits
- Romantic boundaries
- Gender
- Age
- Body shape and muscle mass
Step 1 – Enable Cheats
Make the cheat bar appear in the top left hand corner of the screen by pressing:
- Command + Shift + C on PC.
- CTRL + Shift + C on Mac.
- All four triggers on console.
Type in “testingcheats on” and press enter to enable the use of cheats.
Step 2 – Enter the Cheat “cas.fulleditmode”
Type cas.fulleditmode into the cheat bar and press enter. Note that the cheat bar is not case sensitive.
Step 3 – Click on your Sim to Open cheat options
Press SHIFT while clicking on any sim in the household to show a variety of cheat options (shown in the image below). If you’re playing on console use the following instructions to open the cheat options:
- Xbox: press B first and then A while holding B down
- PlayStation: press O first and then X while still holding O down
Next, select “Modify in CAS”. Now when you enter CAS you will be able to edit everything about your sims!
When you’re done making changes in CAS just click on the tick in the bottom right hand corner of the screen to save your changes and return to live mode.

How to edit work outfit in Sims 4?
For many careers in the Sims 4, sims will autonomously change into a work uniform before they leave to work and return wearing it. It isn’t one of the categories of outfits that all sims get assigned in CAS, so to edit it you need follow these steps:
- Enable cheats (step one from earlier in this post)
- Type sims.modify_career_outfit_in_cas into the cheats text box
- Press enter
