I LOVE it when Sims 4 packs include new worlds! Currently, there are 25 worlds in the game!! Having played the Sims for over a decade, new worlds continue to be one of the most important features I consider when buying new packs. Worlds create fresh opportunities for storytelling, add new cultures to the game, and can enhance the overall theme of the pack they belong to. However, some worlds are more appealing than others. In this post, I’ll share my opinion on which worlds stand out as the best and which ones fall short.

25. Batuu

Pack: Journey to Batuu

Number of lots:

Vacation world

For full disclosure, this is one of only two worlds that I don’t own. However, Batuu is lacking in playable lots and feels very out of place in the game, so it had to be at the bottom of my list.

24. Magnolia Promenade

Pack: Get to Work

Number of lots: 4

Screenshot of World Map, Magnolia Promenade
Screenshot of World Map, Magnolia

Magnolia Promenade is essentially an additional shopping district for Willow Creek, which is why it’s so small. It’s fun to play as a store owner (new feature with get to work), but I prefer to place stores in interesting neighbourhoods where they’ll have beautiful views and more lively surroundings.

23. Forgotten Hollow

Pack: Vampires

Number of lots: 5

Screenshot of World Map, Forgotten Hollow

Forgotten Hollow is the only other world that I don’t own (yet). However, I’ve watched plenty of let’s play videos set in the world. Its small size and dark environment place it low on my list, but if you love the vampire cemetery vibe then you may like it better.

22. Granite Falls

+hidden world

Pack: Outdoor Retreat

Number of lots:

Vacation world

Screenshot of World Map, Granite Falls

Granite Falls is perfect for taking your sims camping and even comes with a hidden world deep in the forest! However, it’s quite small and therefore doesn’t have as much to explore as other worlds. I greatly prefer this world over my bottom three, so we’re on a progressively steeper upward slope from here onward.

21. Del Sol Valley

Pack: Get Famous

Number of lots: 11

Screenshot of World Map, Del Sol Valley

If you really want LA in the Sims 4, then this world hits the nail right on the head. It has cute features such as the stars on the ground in Starlight Boulevard. I really like Del Sol Valley, but it feels quite restrictive. Each neighbourhood is small, so gameplay is less immersive than in other worlds.

20.  Strangerville

Pack: Strangerville

Number of lots: 12

Screenshot of World Map, Strangerville

Stangerville is unique, making it an exciting world for storytelling! I ranked it at number 20 given that I don’t play in it frequently, unless I am playing through the strangerville mystery storyline.

19. Moonwood Mill

Pack: Werewolves

Number of lots: 5

Screenshot of World Map, Moonwood Mill

Now this world is really expansive, which I love! It only has five lots as it comes with a game not expansion pack, but the environment definitely makes up for that. There’s plenty of space for werewolf sims’ to rampage about and tunnels for them to explore. The world is intertwined with the lore as each werewolf pack has a distinct home area. This increases the immersion when playing here.

18. Newcrest

Pack: Base Game

Number of lots: 15

Screenshot of World Map, Newcrest
Screenshot of World Map, Newcrest

Newcrest is the only world that comes without any lots pre-placed in it. I see it as a blank slate version of Willow Creek. For some players this feature inspires creativity and for others it can cause stress about where to begin. I lean more in the latter category, so I don’t find myself playing in it too regularly.

17. Britechester

Pack: Discover University

Number of lots: 13

Screenshot of World Map, Britechester
Screenshot of World Map, Britechester

Britechester is unique as its design is so acutely tailored to the university pack. I love how the two rival universities have very distinct styles from the traditional University of Britechester to the modern Foxbury Institute. I like moving my sims into the town centre for off-campus housing in their last term of university. Therefore, I like all the different neighbourhoods. The only downside is that the staircases on the Foxbury Institute campus can be really annoying for gameplay!

16. Oasis Springs

+hidden world

Pack: Base Game

Number of lots: 21

Screenshot of World Map, Oasis Springs

Oasis Springs is one of the largest worlds in the Sims 4, so it’s great that everyone has access to it in the base game. Additionally, it comes with a one-lot hidden world which is always very exciting! To access the world your sim must have level 10 in the handiness skill (check out this guide if you need help with that!).

15. Glimmerbrook (+ the Magic Realm)

Pack: Realm of Magic

Number of lots: 6

Caster’s Alley in the Magic Realm

On its own, Glimmerbrook would be lower on my ranking, but I LOVE the magic realm. Going to Caster’s Alley feels like something out of a film and the formal duelling grounds make the stakes of my sim’s duels feel twice as high!

14. Willow Creek

+hidden world

Pack: Base Game

Number of lots: 21

Screenshot of World Map, Willow Creek

Willow creek is a great world to start playing in when you first download the base game. I like playing here or moving in and setting up a life for my sim’s siblings when I want to start focusing on just one household member. There’s even a hidden world with no requirements to enter, just a mysterious tree in the Foundry Cove neighbourhood (click on it a few times and try to enter)!

13. San Sequoia

Pack: Growing Together

Number of lots: 12

Screenshot of World Map, San Sequoia

San Sequoia is exactly my cup of tea, as it’s designed for family gameplay, equipped with a movie theatre and mini water park. However, I think it’s less exciting as an environment to explore than the worlds ranked higher.

12. Chestnut Ridge

Pack: Horse Ranch

Number of lots: 13

Screenshot of World Map, Chestnut Ridge

If you love owning horses in the sims, then this world is designed perfectly. It’s so expansive, allowing for your sim to ride for hours at a time. The town area has a rabbit hole style equestrian centre and store which add things to do. This world even includes some caves for your sims to explore! You can’t join them inside the cave, but they might come back with rewards.

11. Tomarang

Pack: For Rent

Number of lots:

This world is beautiful, adds a new culture to the game, and has fun features such as the night market and tiger sanctuary. It just missed my top ten because I think it could have been even more expansive, interactive, and lively.

10. Evergreen Harbour

Pack: Eco Lifestyle

Number of lots: 13

Screenshot of World Map, Evergreen Harbour

Kicking off my top ten is Evergreen Harbour! This world is the only one that starts with neighbourhoods already in either the green or industrial eco footprints rather than neutral (if you want to cheat a neighbourhood’s eco footprint then check out this post!). Evergreen Harbour comes with apartments that aren’t in skyscrapers, a quarry, and its environment is highly dynamic (based on eco footprint). I love playing in the apartments here and think the world complimented the pack concept really well!

9. Copperdale

Pack: High School Years

Number of lots: 12

Screenshot of World Map, Copperdale

Copperdale is really beautiful! There are several cute places for your sims you wander to and hang out at. This world is where all sim teens go to high school and is a wholesome world to live in. My only wish is that it had more lots!

8. Selvadorada

Pack: Jungle Adventure

Number of lots: 7

Vacation world

Selvadorada is BEAUTIFUL! It’s my first choice vacation world to visit in game. Everything from the jungle to the temples is fun to explore and the views from the rope bridge are breathtaking! I love that selvadoran culture is a new skill with this pack. It brings Selvadorada to life as a bustling and historic world, even though it’s small (as all game pack worlds are!).

7. San Myshuno

Pack: City Living

Number of lots: 30

Screenshot of World Map, San Myshuno
Screenshot of World Map, San Myshuno

Filled with skyscrapers that include studios, multi-bedroom apartments, and penthouses, this city is the biggest world in the game based on the number of places your sims can live in. I like how each neighbourhood has its own personality, which is highlighted by neighbourhood specific festivals that occur automatically. San Myshuno is an older world now for the Sims 4, but I think it holds up and continues to be an exciting place for my sims to live in.

6. Sulani

Pack: Island Living

Number of lots: 14

Screenshot of World Map, Sulani
Screenshot of World Map, Sulani

Sulani is undoubtedly gorgeous! It’s the only world where you can build over the ocean on beach lots. The sunsets are beautiful and the volcano makes the world even more interesting! It’s fun having Sulani in your game even if you just want to use it as a vacation world and place rentals there.

5. Tartosa

Pack: My Wedding Stories

Number of lots:

I LOVE this world so much! It’s beautiful and reminiscent of the mediterranean which was new for the Sims 4. This is probably the only pack that I’ve bought (on sale as I always recommend!) almost entirely for the world. I was not disappointed. I play here often and it has more lots than any other world from a game pack.

4. Henford-On-Bagley

Pack: Cottage Living

Number of lots: 12

Screenshot of World Map, Henford-On-Bagley
Screenshot of World Map, Henford-On-Bagley

Ever dreamt of moving into a cottage in the woods, living off of your farm and having rabbit friends? This world is perfect for those types of dreamers. You can live out your fantasy in a world based on the British countryside that’s full of little creatures and a town square frequented by the one-and-only Agnes Crumplebottom. Henford-On-Bagley is a peaceful and beautiful world to live in!

3. Brindleton Bay

Pack: Cats & Dogs

Number of lots: 16

Screenshot of World Map, Brindleton Bay
Screenshot of World Map, Brindleton Bay

Brindleton Bay is a widely beloved world by Sims 4 players and I understand why. It’s by far one of my most played in worlds. I love visiting the island and using the lighthouse as both a perfect proposal place and an iconic woohoo spot!

2. Windenburg

Pack: Get Together

Number of lots: 24

Screenshot of World Map, Windenburg
Screenshot of World Map, Windenburg

Windenburg has SO many lots and shines in its range of environments, including a European-inspired town centre, the countryside, a modernly developed area and an affluent island. I like playing in this world and visiting the cafe’s. In my opinion, it’s a main drawing point for the Get Together expansion pack.

1. Mt. Komorebi

Pack: Snowy Escape

Number of lots: 14

Screenshot of World Map, Mt Komorebi

Topping my list is this Japanese inspired world, designed for the perfect ski trip. I love how expansive the town feels given the walking paths surrounding it. The ski area is another really fun place for game play. The mountain will be snowy all year long and will even have snow if you don’t own the Sims 4 seasons expansion pack. I love playing in this world and sending my sims here for vacation. Everything from spa life to climbing up an entire mountain is included in this world!
