Age Down Cheat Sims 4 (6 Easy Steps!)

In the Sims 4 you can age down your sims using the cas.fulleditmode cheat. In this post I will explain how to turn ageing off all together or freeze your sim’s ageing at their current life stage. If you accidentally aged up a sim or would like to change your sims’ ages for storytelling purposes, then this post will be very helpful. 

Life stages of sims in the Sims 4 (from youngest to oldest): 

• Newborn
• Infant
• Toddler
• Child
• Teen
• Young Adult
• Adult 
• Elder 

Age Down Cheat Sims 4

Sims can be modified in Create-A-Sim, but you will find that if you shift-click on a sim and select the “Modify in Cas” option then you are unable to change your sim’s traits or their life stage. The following cheat is necessary to allow full editing capabilities of your sims. In 6 easy steps you can cheat to age down your sim. Here’s how: 

1. Make the cheat bar appear in the top left hand corner of the screen by pressing:
   1. Command + Shift + C on PC.
   2. CTRL + Shift + C on Mac.
   3. All four triggers on console (e.g. PS4). 
2. Type in “testingcheats true” and press enter to enable the use of cheats. 
3. Type into the bar cas.fulleditmode and press enter. It may seem like nothing has changed, but the cheat will be enabled. 
4. Select your sim using the appropriate keys:
   1. Shift + Click on the sim on PC or Mac. 
   2. Hold circle and press X on PS4. 
   3. Hold B and press A on Xbox One. 
5. Select “Modify in CAS” option. Create-A-Sim will open and you can edit everything about the sims in that household, including their life stages. 
6. Click on the desired age (i.e., life stage) for your sim in the top left hand menu. Then, press the tick in the bottom right hand corner of the screen to save and return to live mode. 

A fully editable CAS can also be accessed without a cheat via manage worlds > households > edit household. 

Turn Ageing off in the Sims 4

Ageing can be turned off in the following 4 steps: 

1. Open the menu from the top right of the screen in manage worlds, live mode, or build/buy mode and select Game Options. 
2. Click on Gameplay from the menu on the left hand side. 
3. Navigate to “Auto-Age (Played Households)” and open the drop down menu. 
4. Select No and then select “Apply Changes” in the bottom right hand corner of the pop-up screen. Now, you can close the window and return to your game. 

Your sims will no longer age up automatically on their birthdays. However, you can still age them up by making a birthday cake (learn how to cheat the cooking skill here) and having them blow out the candles. 

Freeze ageing with Potion of Youth 

The Potion of Youth can be used to freeze your sim’s age. This will turn back the clock on your sim’s current age (so they return to the beginning of that life stage) and then they remain that age. Purchase the Potion of Youth from the rewards store for 1,500 satisfaction points.
